Stephen Crane: "The wayfarer"

"O andarilho" (Tradução de Adriano Nunes)

O andarilho

O andarilho,
Vendo a trilha pra a verdade,
Foi tomado por espanto.
Repleta estava de ervas daninhas.
"Ah", dissera,
"Vejo que ninguém passou por aqui
Faz é tempo. "
Depois viu que cada erva
Era faca sem igual.
"Bem", murmurou, afinal,
"Sem dúvida existem outros caminhos."

Stephen Crane: "The wayfarer"

The wayfarer

The wayfarer,
Perceiving the pathway to truth,
Was struck with astonishment.
It was thickly grown with weeds.
"Ha," he said,
"I see that none has passed here
In a long time."
Later he saw that each weed
Was a singular knife.
"Well," he mumbled at last,
"Doubtless there are other roads."
