Hilda Doolittle: "Sea Violet" (Tradução de Adriano Nunes)

"Violeta marinha" (Tradução de Adriano Nunes)

A violeta alva
é cheirosa em seu caule,
a violeta marinha
frágil feito ágata,
repousa de frente pra todo o vento
entre as conchas quebradas
no arenoso banco.

As maiores violetas azuis
vibram na colina,
mas quem mudaria por elas
quem mudaria por essas
de raiz do tipo branco?

Violeta
teu fincar-te é frágil
na borda de arenosa colina,
mas a luz ganhas -
geada, uma estrela fias com tua chama.

Hilda Doolittle: "Sea Violet"

Sea Violet

The white violet
is scented on its stalk,
the sea-violet
fragile as agate,
lies fronting all the wind
among the torn shells
on the sand-bank.

The greater blue violets
flutter on the hill,
but who would change for these
who would change for these
one root of the white sort?

Violet
your grasp is frail
on the edge of the sand-hill,
but you catch the light—
frost, a star edges with its fire.
