Alexander Posey: "Autumn" (tradução de Adriano Nunes)

"Outono" (tradução de Adriano Nunes)

No sonhador silêncio
Da tarde, uma
Veste áurea é tecida
Sobre o prado e a mata;
E o pássaro, há pouco
Caído do cosmo,
Acenos cordiais espalha,
E o ar é preenchido com
Folhas rubras, que, caindo,
Erguem-se de novo, como sempre,
Com um suspiro inútil para
Repousar - e é Outono.

Alexander Posey: "Autumn"

In the dreamy silence
Of the afternoon, a
Cloth of gold is woven
Over wood and prairie;
And the jaybird, newly
Fallen from the heaven,
Scatters cordial greetings,
And the air is filled with
Scarlet leaves, that, dropping,
Rise again, as ever,
With a useless sigh for
Rest—and it is Autumn.
